SILICALITH TEXTURE

Textured silicate primer, for irregular mineral bases where before the final painting with Silicalith it is required to equalize the texture, in restoration of facades and heritage. Silicalith Texture becomes part of the base by petrification and silicification.

Product description

PROPERTIES: SILICALITH TEXTURE is a low Voc, nanotechnologically modified silicate emulsion textured background primer, suitable for outdoor and indoor mineral bases. It has been formulated with components that are respectful of both health and the environment, free of formaldehyde, heavy metals, phthalates, alkylphenol ethoxylates, ammonia (APEO free). Its innovative formula, based on special silicate dispersions, is reinforced by nano-silanes that make it extremely durable. Weather resistant, Class 1 wet scrub resistance (ISO 11998), Class 1 covering and opacity for a yield of 3 litre/m² (ISO 6504-3), matt classification (EN ISO 2813). Provides a very high level of water vapour permeability and extremely active breathability, in line with the EN 7783-2 Standard, Class V1 and SD = 0.004 m. Likewise it also provides a high level of resistance to water in liquid form, with low permeability in line with the EN 1062-3 Standard, Class W3 and w = 0.09 kg/m² h 0.5. It has a neutral smell and low Voc. Free of biocides thanks to its inorganic and alkaline chemical nature that ensures a natural anti-microbial action. Fireproof (Class A2-s1d0, in line with EN 13501-1). Does not crack, tear or swell when subjected to damp. It has an excellent chemical adhesion to mineral bases, because SILICALITH TEXTURE becomes part of the substrate due to a process of silification. Available in off-white and it can be pigmented up to 3% with Mixol oxide colours.

MAIN USE: SILICALITH TEXTURE is an excellent background primer for facades restoration and heritage with mineral systems, provides texture to the base to cover small fissures of retraction and capillaries up to 0.5 mm, matching different textures that may be in the base. SILICALITH Texture must always be finished with 2 hands of Fakolith paint or silicate glaze.

Apply on clean, dry, cured, duly consolidated, free of anti-adherent substances, free of salts and micro-organisms bases and primed with Multilite for mineral bases or Disperlith Primer for dry construction. Suitable Surfaces: Concrete or cement renderings, porous natural or artificial stone, sand and lime mortars, brick walls, mineral paints, fibrocement boards, plaster surfaces and / or Pladur® (primed with Disperlith Primer). Always respect the correct curing of fresh mortars. Inadequate surfaces: Plastics, wood, plastic paints, oil paints, enamels and lacquers.

HOW TO APPLY: Carefully protect all surfaces that are not to be treated from splashing. Apply to ambient and base temperatures of 5ºC or above. Remove the paint thoroughly before its use, and apply SILICALITH TEXTURE on clean, dry, cured bases, properly consolidated, free of anti-adherent substances, salts and microorganisms. We recommend priming with a coat of Multilite, in a solution of 1:1 with water (or alternatively FK-7 in a solution of 1:14 with water) in order to even up the base and any irregular colouring problems. For plaster bases, prime using Disperlith Primer. Silicalith Texture is a water-based product, which is supplied ready for use and we recommended undiluted application. Apply 2 coats of the product using brushes, rollers or an airless spray gun. At 20ºC and with relative humidity of 60% each coat will be dry and ready to be repainted after approximately 12-24 hours. It can be applied when ambient and surface temperatures are between 10 and 35ºC. Drying times will be determined by ambient humidity and temperature and this process could take several days in cases where humidity levels are high and temperatures are low. For optimum durability the system can be improved by the subsequent application of the water-repellent protectors FK-7 or FK-3 Plus Nano. For further information consult technical data sheet and/or application guidelines, as well as the safety data sheet.

AVERAGE YIELD: SILICALITH TEXTURE provides a yield of approx. 2-5 m²/litre, although this may vary considerably, depending on how it is applied and the texture and absorption of the base. We recommend doing some tests before.
