MINERAL PROTECT Permanent (Antes Fluorosil)

DESCRIPTION: “Mineral Protect Permanent” is a water-based, transparent and visually unobtrusive impregnation treatment, based on natural hydrocolloidal technology, free from PFA, solvents and silicone, and environmentally friendly. It is designed to create a breathable, water-repellent and oil-repellent anti-adhesive protection against graffiti on absorbent mineral surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, allowing graffiti to be removed using pressurised water and/or our standard cleaning products.

MAIN USE: Particularly suitable as permanent protection (approx. 10 cleaning cycles) for durable, absorbent mineral substrates such as concrete, exposed brickwork and clinker, on noise barriers, bridges, façades, buildings, etc. Effective against graffiti and general environmental soiling. “Mineral Protect Permanent” can be applied, albeit with limitations, to absorbent mineral substrates of low consistency, such as sandstone and calcareous sandstone; however, in these cases, due to the substrate’s low resistance to pressurised water, the protection is highly unlikely to be permanent unless the substrate is properly mineral-consolidated beforehand. On highly absorbent substrates, no droplets form when sprayed with water.

PROPERTIES: “Mineral Protect Permanent” is deposited in the capillaries of the pores of the mineral substrate and, thanks to its water- and oil-repellent properties, protects against degradation and the penetration of rainwater, dirt and pollution, whilst preventing graffiti from adhering properly.  The “Mineral Protect Permanent” anti-graffiti impregnation is certified in accordance with BASt testing. It is breathable (Sd value = 0.197 m), transparent, causes only a slight alteration to the appearance, is UV-resistant and is considered permanent, as graffiti can be removed repeatedly using hot water under pressure; alternatively, graffiti can be removed primarily using the macs Liquid Cracker cleaner and other products from our range.

APPLICATION METHOD: Thoroughly protect all surfaces that are not to be treated or splashed. “Mineral Protect Permanent” is ready to use and must not be diluted. Shake the container vigorously before opening to ensure a homogeneous liquid. It can be applied using a sprayer, roller or airless spray gun, with a 0.015-inch/0.38 mm nozzle and a 20° spray angle, at 80 bar (distance from the wall 50 cm, spray cone width 30 cm). Apply the first coat more generously, without allowing the product to drip. Apply the second coat onto the slightly damp previous coat. If there is any excess, smooth it out and remove the protective film using criss-cross movements from bottom to top immediately after application. The coats should be applied in quick succession whilst the surface is still damp. The intervals depend on the substrate’s absorbency and the temperature of the surface, so they can vary considerably: from 10 minutes to 1–2 hours.

AVERAGE COVERAGE: macs Fluorosil Classic has an average coverage of between 3 and 10 m² per litre, with an approximate consumption of 100 ml/m² to 300 ml/m², depending on the absorption of the substrate.
