Highly concentrated water repellent for industrial use. Aqueous solution of potassium methyl siliconate. Applied in high dissolution in water, either by immersion or sprayed on mineral precast concrete and ceramics in the construction industry, it makes them water repellent.
DESCRIPTION: FAKOLITH FK-7 Industry is a long-lasting and effective concentrated, water based, potassium-methyl-siliconate water-repellent, which when applied to construction industry prefabricated mineral and ceramic surfaces renders them water-repellent. No surface film is formed, nor is there any alteration to the water vapour permeability of the base. The water-repellent properties of FK-7 Industry are the result of the reaction of the solution with carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air. The active ingredient obtained from this silicon water-repellent is poly methyl silicic acid.
MAIN USE: FAKOLITH FK-7 Industry provides effective protection against both environmental attack and the causes and consequences of damp. Particularly designed for industrial water-repellent processes or for mineral surfaces that do not require subsequent finishing. Will not accept subsequent paint applications. Particularly recommended for construction ceramics, immediately after manufacture (roof tiles, finish bricks, slabs, plant pots, etc.), cellular concrete, plaster and fibre/plaster boards, light loads such as pearlite, vermiculite or lightweight concrete aggregates, thermal insulation materials and other mineral bases. Given that an unwanted white sediment may appear, when applied to some coloured bases, we recommend that suitability tests always be run.
HOW TO APPLY: In general FK-7 Industry is applied as part of an industrial process, by means of immersion or abundant spraying. Generally speaking the product should be diluted in ordinary tap water, in the ratios indicated in continuation. In the case of bricks, roof tiles, plant pots, industrial ceramics, between 1:75 and 1:100; and for cellular concrete or similar, from 1:10 to 1:20. In specific cases the product may need to be diluted even further or used in higher concentrations. As a result, we recommend that previous trials be rune to establish whether this is the case. It is recommended that you first prepare the water and add the FK-7 Industry to it, constantly mixing with a stirrer until optimum blending has been obtained. The water-based solutions made up can be used to impregnate the surfaces of mineral construction materials, always insofar as the application technique employed guarantees a sufficient and uniform impregnation of the support. Its use is not recommended as a water-repellent on façades, floors, etc., insofar as for such purposes other non-industrial water-repellents (FK-7, FK-3 Plus Nano, FK-4 Extreme…) are more suitable. For more information consult the specifications sheet and/or application guidelines, along with the safety sheet.
AVERAGE YIELD: Average consumption for water-based solutions of FK-7 Industry is approx. 250 ml/m², although this may vary between 100 and 500 ml/m². Whatever the case may be this will basically depend on the absorption capacity of the surface to be treated. Carry out tests to ascertain the precise values.
